picture solutions

We cannot seem to transfer all our summer pictures that are downloaded on Kurt's temporary computer to any type of CD so I'm just posting all the ones that I might want to transfer to our desk top in NY. Just a warning that there are going to be more pictures here then anybody wants to see!!

Feeling great and therefore not pregnant!

Sorry for the false advertisement with the last post :).  Your biggest clue that number THREE is on the way is that there will be no new posts for 3 or 4 months.  Many of you can relate!!

We are in Utah now for a couple of weeks and my normal life stops whenever I'm in Utah--I try to pack it all in and see as many friends and family members as I can.  I am excited to look at all of your blogs and comment on your cute pictures, clever projects etc......towards the end of the summer that is.  UNTILL then.....

one, two.....THREE!

Owen is all about jumping these days--well mostly attempted jumping. But he's really into the "one....two....threeeeee." Then jump game. He doesn't say the numbers clearly but you can tell what he's saying. In the car last week Owen would not share the water with Lucy. Finally I resorted to my stern voice and look saying "Owen give it to Lucy, one....two..." and then Owen with his cheesy grin yells "threeeeeeeee" in his high girly voice. We all busted up laughing and any hopes I had of keeping my stern face was lost.

Lucy on the other hand can keep a stern face. She can actually give a pretty good evil eye. To any of you who wish to stay on her good side you might want to refrain from calling her "little, baby, and/or cute!" For the third time or so we had an experience in the grocery store where a passing costumer said "Oh watch out for that baby" referring to Lucy as the baby. Lucy looked appalled and said "MOM, that person just called me a BABY!" She was so mad and had a cross look for at least 10 minutes. I don't know why but I think it is hilarious that she gets so offended at being referred to as "so little and cute" and especially at "baby."

Day at the Beach

Sunscreen + Face plant = THIS

Let's just first continue with the Owen eats everything STILL theme. During our 5 awesome hours at the beach Owen found and attempted to eat charcoaled wood, someone's leftover pb & j crusts, dried kelp, a grape he'd dropped and was completely covered in sand, my friends vinal covered tent sack???, rocks (but that's old news) and I'm sure the list could go on. He gave up everything with out a fight except for the charcoaled wood--he seemed to really enjoy that flavor. The kid was completely covered with sand and sticky watermelon drippings all day, but could have cared less. It was refreshing to watch a child be so easy going about everything.

The kids jumping over the big hole they dug

CUTE!

Hanger skewers bring back many childhood memories

Babies bonding--they're a year apart and the same size,
maybe if Owen started eating food instead of "stuff"....

Time out "hole" -- yes at the beach--I'm so mean

Owen tries to sprint down cemented steep hills, balance on top of toys and stools, climb the highest peaks of every playground and by the end of the day he had no fear of the ocean either. I don't have any idea how to rein this guy in a little. But he is SO fun to watch--when my heart isn't racing that is.

Lucy didn't fair in the water soooo well and constantly yelled out "Mom, SAVE OWEN!" as she watched him fearlessly (and recklessly) charge into the oncoming waves. I did stay really CLOSE by. She had a great time in the sand and eating sweets and snacks though!

California Dream'n

We've been living my "California Dream" which is spending so much time outside and with great friends that I've had no time to be inside on the computer! (I love being outside in beautiful sunny weather and NOT be HOT!) That and I don't have a computer while Kurt's at work and we had no internet for over a week, that was interesting and I realized how dependent I'd become on Google Maps to help me find my way around here. Time to do a quick catch up. Kurt's summer internship is with Sun Microsystems located in Menlo Park, California. We arrived here May 20th. And so far everything has been awesome. A few things I wanted to remember about these past few weeks....

  • Lucy and Owen sleep in a room together, the first couple of nights were rough, but now they have no problem with it and I think it is so cute to sing them their songs and leave them alone together.
  • One morning Owen had eaten crayon, soap and glue before it was even 10:00 am. Can anyone teach him that FOOD tastes better then everything else?
  • Lucy reading stories to Kurt and I and trying with all her might to only say the first part of most of the words. For ex. She went to the schoo (school), and found her bo (book) and read a stor (story). ??????????????
  • Lucy naming each one of her frosted mini wheats and talking to them before she ate them.
  • Lucy scolding her markers and putting them in time out
  • Owen getting through the "child" proof medicine cap and dumping a brand new bottle of infants motrin all over the laundr-o-mat floor. (thank goodness it was the floor and not his mouth--lesson learned--child proof is not Owen proof) He looks so sweet and has such a great smile that I forget sometimes how much trouble he is.
  • The day that Owen had an ingenious idea to move the stool around where ever he needed an extra 12 inches to get into things. Time to move everything up a drawer!
Well Kurt is getting ready to leave which means I have to relinquish this computer to him. I'll finish later!
